Our mission

From commodity to innovative functional ingredient.

Sugarcane has been processed in fundamentally the same way for more than a century. The result is a global industry that captures only a small fraction of the cane's value — turning a remarkable plant into low-margin commodities and burning the rest as boiler fuel.

Tinkature was founded to change that. By holding the exclusive licence to the Tilby Lang System, we're bringing decades of separation and extraction technology to bear on a single goal: unlocking sugarcane's untapped potential as a source of high-value functional food ingredients — standardised polyphenols, clean-label fibre and functional sweeteners — all from the same tonne of cane.

What guides our work

Scientific rigour

Decades of process development underpin every gram of product we make. Natural polyphenol profiles are preserved, not synthesised.

Commercial viability

Lab discoveries are interesting; industrial-scale economics are essential. We build for both.

Sustainability

Self-sufficient operations, lower energy intensity and a water positive process with reduced waste — sustainability isn't a marketing layer, it's the design constraint.

Global impact

From Queensland to legacy sugar mills across the tropics, the platform is built to revitalise existing infrastructure at scale.

Australian origins

Built in Australia, for the world.

The Tilby Lang System combines the pioneering Tilby separation process with the Lang technology, which was invented and developed in Australia, with its genesis at the CSIRO. It brings together decades of Australian process-engineering research into a single integrated industrial platform.

Tinkature's commercial-scale facilities are designed to be co-located with legacy sugar mills and existing sugarcane infrastructure — the modular design doubles as a turnkey blueprint for rapid global expansion into legacy sugar infrastructure across the tropics.
